Grafton students jump for their hearts and help save lives

Millbury Street Elementary School hosted its 2nd Jump Rope for Heart event to raise money for the American Heart Association. AHA funds lifesaving heart and stroke research and community and educational programs for our youth.  This years Jump Rope for Heart was dedicated to staff member, Ms. McPartland’s father, Denis McPartland, who passed away in November.

This community service project teaches our students how to be heart healthy with exercise, nutrition and to avoid tobacco products. Part of the program was fundraising to help people, young and old, with special hearts. For over 32 years, Jump Rope for Heart has raised more than $810 million for the fight against heart disease and stroke.

Students and staff worked hard to make Jump Rope for Heart 2014 a successful year by raising more than $6200.00.  During Jump For Heart week, we celebrated our heart health knowledge and showed off our jump rope talents.
