The Sassy Foxx goes up the road

UXBRIDGE - Michele Provencal opened The Sassy Foxx consignment shop in Douglas five years ago. Situated on North St. near the busy intersection with Rt. 16 in downtown Douglas, the shop became such a popular destination that Michele outgrew the space and had to move to a larger place.

“I wanted to be not too far away, so everyone would follow me,” said Michele, who has timed the drive to her new location at 31 South Main St., in downtown Uxbridge. “It's a short distance, just seven minutes.”

The building, next to the fire station, had been vacant for several years, said Michele. It was once the home of Curves, a book store, a restaurant, and originally, the post office.

She moved in on April 1. The new space is three times larger than the old one and now allows her to add furniture to the consignment list, which includes women's clothing, accessories, jewelry and decorative household items.

There is plenty of parking at the new location: next to the building, in the municipal parking lot, and on the street.

The Sassy Foxx hours are Tuesday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday-Thursday until 7:00 p.m.; Friday-Saturday until 5:00 p.m. Phone 508-278-9700.
