Still space for kids in Grafton sports clinics

Yankee Shopper Staff

GRAFTON – Grafton Recreation Director Betty Wright tells us that there is still space available in the clinics listed below. The program is offered to Grafton residents first, but out-of-towners can enroll if space is available for an extra $10 charge. The programs continue on a weekly basis through July and August.

Baseball Clinic: This clinic will help in conditioning, hitting, base running, and drills. All of the staff members are high school baseball coaches. At the end of each day, there will be a scrimmage game. Groups for ages 6-12.

Summer Tennis Clinic: Taught by Eric Westcott, director of high performance tennis at the Longfellow Tennis Club. Classes focus on rallying skills, movement, technique and tactics.

Co-ed Basketball Clinic: Drill stations will emphasize individual and team building skills. Lectures and hands-on demonstrations. Games. Age-based groups 6-16.

Jr. Golf Lesson: Grafton Recreation in conjunction with golf pro James Chisholm offers lessons at Highfield Golf & Country Club. Learn about putting, chipping, and swing drive if a first-time golfer; improve if mastering the golf.
