4th Annual Chili Cook-Off

The Webster Dudley Business Alliance and Isador's Organic Fruit & Deli of Oxford just announced that they are partnering again for their 4th Annual Chili Cook-Off on Sunday, March 1from 12-2 p.m.

Last year's event was a great success with lots of people coming out to sample and judge 17 entries. More than $700 was raised for the Hand Fruit Program, which distributes fresh, organic fruit to local elementary schools in Webster, Dudley and Oxford.

You are invited to come and sample the entries or enter your own recipe and support a good cause for just a $5...

Drive-by Fish Fry

Event Date Friday, February 20, 2015 - 4:00pm to 7:30pm

Starting on February 20th and continuing every Friday until March 27th The Knights of Columbus of Sutton/Millbury Bishop Bernard J. Flanagan Council #12710 will have their Annual Drive-by Fish Fry.  We will be in the parking lot at St. Marks Church on 356 Boston Road in Sutton.  As always we will be serving a Fresh 8oz. Filet of Fish with French Fries, Coleslaw and Tartar Sauce from our trailer. All are welcome, we start serving at 4pm and continue until all 200 pounds of our fish is gone. Roast Turkey Dinner

The First Congregational Church of Dudley, 135 Center Rd. is having a Roast Turkey Dinner on Saturday February 21, 2015.  The menu will include: Roast Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Butternut Squash, Turnip & Cranberry Sauce. QUINEBAUG VALLEY SINGERS BEGIN SPRING SEASON

All enthusiastic singers, whether new to QVS or QVS veterans, are encouraged to participate in this gala season.  This year QVS celebrates the beginning of their second decade under the direction of Nym Cooke.   The repertory for this concert  was chosen by the singers in a process of online voting from among the 130+ pieces performed at the spring concerts over the past ten years.  These “choice” selections will be performed May 30, May 31 and June 7 and then recorded on the chorus’s first professionally produced CD.

Veterans Dinner-Webster area

Event Date Wednesday, February 25, 2015 - 6:00pm

In October a free dinner was held at Point Breeze Restaurant on Webster Lake for any and all veterans in the three towns.  Fifty-one veterans came.  They shared in a wonderful dinner, and heard Mr. Kevin Paicos, a 40 year Special Forces veteran, share his personal story of service and deployment to the Middle East.  Those who came seemed to really enjoy the fellowship and food. 

The parish is now planning a second free dinner on February 25th from 6-8 p.m.  It will be held once again at Point Breeze.  The...
